The Opportunity:

The Maintenance Technician is required to maintain the community equipment and grounds in a safe and efficient manner to ensure a successful and viable preventative maintenance program is maintained at all times. The nature of this job requires that he/she be flexible and work closely with other staff and departments in providing a safe clean and healthy environment for residents staff and visitors.

What Is In It For You:

  • Responsible for the repair and maintenance of inside and outside the building including gardening landscaping pest control etc.
  • Coordinate / assist in routine ground maintenance parking areas driveways etc by cutting trimming sweeping etc.
  • Schedule and oversee sub-contract inspections and work with the General Manager on recommendations.
  • Coordinate and/or perform routine and minor repair of all building and equipment including plumbing drywall repair carpentry mechanical etc (Major repairs typically performed by contractors)
  • Monitor and as necessary replace/repair lighting fixtures call lights exit lights parking lot and outside facility lighting etc.
  • Complete and/or review daily weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and ensure accurate and current records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
  • Ensure Preventative Maintenance Check Sheets and Schedules are followed and provide recommendations for revision to appropriate Management.
  • Schedule job activities so they can be accomplished with the work day; prioritize activities appropriately.


What You Will Need

  • General knowledge of electrical plumbing with good understanding of boiler and furnace systems.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English both orally and in writing.
  • Prior experience with plumbing mechanical systems painting and general maintenance.
  • Prior experience in working supervisory role a definite asset.

Salary: $21.51 per hour

Salary placement based on qualifications and experience.
