Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting: Preparing analyzing and maintaining accurate financial statements including balance sheets and profit/loss accounts.

Auditing & Compliance: Conducting internal and external audits to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards (provincial federal or tax).

Taxation: Handling corporate and individual tax planning filing income tax returns and ensuring compliance with tax laws.

Advisory Services: Offering strategic financial advice to improve business performance manage risks and assist in mergers or acquisitions.

Budgeting & Forecasting: Overseeing budgetary controls financial forecasting and cash flow management.

Internal Controls: Reviewing implementing and monitoring accounting systems and processes.

Requirements and Qualifications

Certification: Recognized CA certification (e.g. ACA CPA) and accreditation with a relevant governing body.

Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or Economics.

Experience: Completion of articles/training contracts often with 3 years of experience required for senior roles.

Skills: High proficiency in accounting software strong analytical abilities attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Work Environment

Chartered Accountants work across various sectors including public accounting firms private corporations government agencies and not-for-profit organizations.
