St. Martins Episcopal School is excited to recruit Summer Camp Counselors for our George Cottage Summer Camp program.
This is a fun rewarding opportunity to work with young children be part of a supportive team and make a real impact during the summer months.
Camp Dates & ScheduleCamp runs: June 1 July 31 2026
Mandatory training: Late May (exact date TBD)
Camp hours: MondayFriday 7:30 a.m. 3:30 p.m.
Aftercare Program: Monday-Friday 3:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Meals are provided to counselors at no cost.
Counselors must be available for the full camp day throughout the camp season.
About the RoleGeorge Cottage Summer Camp serves children 8 weeks through 4 years old. Counselors work closely with campers fellow counselors camp leadership and parents while supporting a safe nurturing and joyful camp experience.
First and foremost counselors are responsible for the safety care and well-being of all campers. Counselors are expected to be positive role models enthusiastic participants and dependable team members.
You will report directly to the Summer Camp Director(s) and work collaboratively with the full camp team.
Key ResponsibilitiesBe present and engaged throughout the camp day shift (7:30 a.m. 3:30 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.)
Supervise campers during all activities transitions meals drop-off and dismissal
Model kindness patience and good sportsmanship
Lead and participate in activities with individuals and small groups
Maintain appropriate discipline and ensure orderly movement between activities
Follow all George Cottage Camp and St. Martins Episcopal School policies
Take and maintain accurate daily attendance
Remain with assigned campers at all times including during lunch
Attend counselor meetings as scheduled
Attend mandatory counselor training
Must be at least 17 years old (required by Louisiana State Licensing)
Prior childcare experience (preferred)
CPR certification (preferred)
First Aid certification (preferred)
