What youll be doing

CIBC is searching for a Sales Practice Oversight Co-op to help support Governance and Controls. Reporting to the Director Sales Practice Oversight the Sales Practice Oversight Co-op student will be part of a dynamic team with the opportunity to help manage sales practices for the organization supporting the governance function and reporting for operational risk.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Youll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where youll spend 1-3 days per week on-site while other days will be remote.

Important information:

  • You must be currently enrolled in post-secondary education and returning to full-time studies to be eligible. However you do not need to be in a registered Co-op program to be considered for a role.

  • Recruitment timeline: Applications review January/Feb; Interviews February/March; Offers - March/April

  • You will work on assessing and understanding initiatives and campaigns to identify sales practice risk.

  • Administrate and manage certain reporting functions related to the governance model.

  • Synthesize and work with complex data.

  • Consult and collaborate with various teams across the organization.

  • Conduct thorough reviews to identify high risk sales behaviors using detailed knowledge of CIBC policies procedures and operations CIBC code of conduct organizational structure and risk management principles.

  • Review processes to identify process optimization opportunities and efficiencies.

  • You have strong knowledge of MS Office tools. Excel Word PowerPoint etc. experience in programming would be an asset.

  • You have an interest in Risk Management and Regulatory Governance.

  • You are a university student pursuing a degree in Finance Business or Data Science.

  • You have advanced communication and interpersonal skills. You have the ability to interact with people at all levels.
