Job Description:
A Legal Executive in the steel pipes manufacturing industry is a critical role responsible for ensuring legal and regulatory compliance managing risks and handling all legal documentation specific to manufacturing contracts and litigation. The position requires a blend of general corporate legal knowledge and an understanding of industry-specific regulations like the Factories Act.
Key Responsibilities
- Contract Management:Draft review negotiate and manage a wide range of legal documents including client and vendor contracts supply agreements and internal agreements.
- Regulatory Compliance:Ensure all company operations especially manufacturing processes and facilities comply with local state and federal laws including theFactories Actand other relevant labor and environmental regulations.
- Litigation and Dispute Resolution:Manage ongoing legal proceedings including litigation arbitration and dispute resolution. This includes preparing replies to legal notices and coordinating with external legal counsel.
- Risk Management:Identify and mitigate potential legal risks associated with business operations to safeguard the companys interests and reputation.
- Legal Research and Advice:Conduct thorough legal research and provide proactive timely legal opinions and guidance to various departments and senior management on all matters affecting the business.
- Documentation and Record Keeping:Organize and maintain legal documents case files correspondence and ensure all records are up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Liaison:Coordinate with external lawyers consultants government authorities and internal departments (such as HR and factory teams).
Desired Skills & Qualifications
- Education:A Bachelors degree in Law (LLB) is generally required.
- Experience:2-5 years of experience in corporate legal preferably in manufacturing EPC or infrastructure sectors is advantageous.
- Knowledge:Key areas include contract law corporate law arbitration statutory compliances and a basic understanding of steel pipes/structural steel materials and fabrication processes is a plus.
- Skills:Essential skills include drafting vetting negotiation research analysis communication and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
