Collects and reviews background information for provider credentialing and privileging for Carilion Clinic.
Coordinates with recruitment credentialing and enrollment staff to ensure timely and accurate completion of all paperwork in order to efficiently credential and privilege new providers for the hospital.
Communicates with department leaders to keep them involved and updated on application completion process and changes in status.
Works with leaders to develop implement and communicate new policies procedures practices and initiatives for provider applicants. Monitors outcomes regularly and suggests process improvement ideas when and where necessary if concerns become apparent.
Compose and edit correspondence reports and minutes.
Develops and maintains relationships with Physician and Advanced Clinical applicants and their office staff.
Maintains applicant and employee confidentiality
Informs leadership of any concerns or problems encountered within the scope of daily work and/or interactions.
Maintains accessibility throughout the organization and in the community as a resource person.
Education: Bachelors degree required or equivalent combination of education and relative experience can be in lieu of degree.
Experience: Minimum three years in Medical Staff Services CredentialingProvider Recruitment Provider Enrollment Provider Onboarding or related field.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Function in a demanding highly dynamic and fast paced environment. Ability to prioritize organize manage time and work on several projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Work with a variety of office software programs including but not limited to Windows MS Office Suite Adobe and credentialing software. Ability to be able to function independently and be self-directed and detail oriented. Ability to demonstrate excellent written verbal and interpersonal communication and other problem-solving skills. Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner. Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with medical staff members physician office staff hospital employees and co-workers. Ability to adapt to flexible work schedules and frequent interruptions. Ability to understand and have working knowledge of the organization medical staff bylaws rules and regulations policies applicable accreditation standards and federal and state regulations.
