Job Description:
The primary responsibility as a lifeguard is to ensure the safety of patrons by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or need to be able to solve on-the-job issues by utilizing effective critical thinking and decision-making skills andpossess the ability to work with diverse must be able to enforceaquaticfacility policies and be able to communicate effectively why policies are in place.
Essential Responsibilities:
Monitor all patrons in aquatic/pool areas and provide constant surveillance of pool areas to ensure patron safety
Act as a first responder to emergency situations
Perform life saving techniques CPR and first aid procedures in emergency situations
Ability to stand forlong periodsof time(up to 5 hours a day)whilemonitoringthe pool deck
Work in outdoor setting during various weather conditions
Maintain the cleanliness of the pool deck by removing used towels lifejacketsand trash
Communicate and report any facility issues or needs to the Certified Pool Operator
Qualifications:
Current Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Required.
Current CPR/ First Aid/AED Certifications Required.
Knowledge of water rescue and resuscitation techniques;
Ability to remain calm and alert in emergency situations and act accordingly;
Ability to deal with public and other staff in a non-confrontational manner;
Ability to communicate in a clear concise manner.
Previouslifeguarding experience is preferred but notrequired
