Inviting applications for the role of Principal Consultant - Digital Communications Engineer
A Digital Communications Engineer is responsible for the design analysis implementation and optimization of digital communication systems that transmit data reliably over wired and wireless channels. The role focuses on physical-layer signal processing communication algorithms and system performance under real-world channel impairments.
Responsibilities
Focused on supporting reliable real time customer communications in a fintech environment.
API Driven Communications:
Design and maintain APIs that trigger automated customer notifications (e.g. OTPs alerts reminders).
Omnichannel Messaging:
Manage SMS Email Voice (VoIP) and Push Notification channels to ensure consistent delivery and user experience.
Platform Reliability:
Maintain 99.9% uptime for communication gateways and routing services critical to customer authentication and transactions.
Security & Compliance:
Implement encryption privacy best practices and regulatory controls (e.g. TCPA PCI DSS data retention policies).
Contact Center Support:
Maintain and optimize IVR flows call routing and integrations with CRM/servicing tools.
Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
Run diagnostics and perform rootcause analysis for delivery issues (e.g. failed OTPs dropped calls).
Messaging Platforms : Experience with at least one major provider (e.g. Twilio or SendGrid).
Voice/Telephony : Understanding of SIP and VoIP fundamentals.
Cloud Services : Basic experience with AWS or Azure communication services.
APIs & Development : Ability to work with REST APIs; basic scripting in Python or .
Monitoring & Logs : Ability to troubleshoot using cloud logs and message delivery reports.
Networking Basics : Understanding of TCP/IP and DNS required for communication flow troubleshooting.
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications
Regulated Industry Experience:
Exposure to fintech banking lending or similar compliance driven environments.
Strong Troubleshooting:
Skilled at identifying why specific communications fail (e.g. carrier rejection routing error).
Cross Team Collaboration:
Work closely with Product Security Engineering and Customer Support teams.
Documentation Discipline:
Able to maintain workflow diagrams routing logic and communication SOPs.
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Telecommunications Electronics or related field.
