Elementary Literacy Coach

Job Summary: The Literacy Coach will participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and collaborate closely with administrators and educators to strengthen instructional practices grounded in the science of reading research.
Certification and Qualifications: Valid Indiana teaching license with elementary certification and an Indiana literacy endorsement required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expand educators knowledge of the science of reading research
- Assistin instructional planning with individuals and groups of teachers
- conduct mini and full coaching cycles that target student outcomes
- Provide training and ongoing support in the use of formative assessment data to drive classroominstruction based on science of reading research
- Ensure that student achievement and growth data is routinely collected reported and used to drive instructional decisions at school and classroom levels
- Implement professional development on high-quality instructional practicesaligned with science of reading research and
- Provide small group intervention and instruction on a regular basis.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during classroom instruction and supervision.
- Manual dexterity to operate classroom technology and equipment.
- Visual and auditory ability to monitor student behavior and respond to classroom situations.
- Ability to move quickly in response to student safety needs.
- Ability to perform light physical activitiessuch as bending kneeling and reachingas required in a classroom setting as well as lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
