QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • Experience as a youth or parent/caregiver with a serious emotional disturbance receiving or having previously received services within the public systems including: mental health child welfare or juvenile justice
  • Previous experience with advocacy outreach and community resources preferred
  • Previous management experience preferred
  • Meets the minimum qualifications required for the role.
  • 01 years of experience leading team members in a single program.
  • Learning leadership practices processes and principles.
  • Developing basic management skills including communication organization and team coordination.
  • Serves as a representative of the Agency in community meetings.
  • Supervises team members within one program.
  • Implement day-to-day operational plans under supervision.
  • Assists in monitoring team performance and meeting program objectives.
  • Focused on building foundational leadership competencies such as time management communication and conflict resolution.

Skills & Requirements

    • Leadership qualities and demonstrated skill in managing time systems and teams
    • Basic knowledge of Public Mental Health/Child Welfare/Education systems and the ability to advocate on behalf of clients in navigating and negotiating those systems
    • Ability to work flexible working hours including evenings and some weekends
    • Ability to work independently/self-motivated
    • Sensitive to multicultural issues
    • Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
    • Verbal and written ability to communicate effectively with colleagues community partners consumers and all levels of management
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects and assignments effectively

    • Ability to use a laptop computer
    • Fulfillment of TB test background check clearance and any other mandatory State/Federal requirements
    • Valid California drivers license proof of automobile insurance can maintain a driving record acceptable to the agencys insurance carrier if applicable to position
    • Must provide and operate a registered properly insured automobile if applicable to position

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • The FYP Manager performs the functions as defined by the County Mental Health policy and performs the following duties:
  • Provides input to the agencys Executive Leadership Team regarding policies and procedures that impact service delivery
  • Finds representation or represents the agency at County Mental Healths Peer Advocacy meeting
  • Participates in regular County Community Advisory Meetings
  • Management and Supervisory Responsibilities: The FYP Manager will be responsible for the oversight of subsequent Family and Youth Partnership team members working at for the agency. Duties include the following but not limited to the following:
    • Provide leadership oversight direct consultation training and support to the Family and Youth Partnership staff including: individual consultation professional development and program and agency job specific expectations in accordance with the expectations and standards set by the agency
    • Provide orientation and ongoing training to assigned employees in accordance with the agencys standards of practice
    • Provide information and feedback to assigned staff as pertains to job expectations and their performance of those job expectations
    • Consult with Clinical or Program Director(s) regarding Family and Youth Partnership workplace behaviors that may adversely or positively affect work performance and/or service to our youth and families
    • Participate in sharing updates with FYP Director for the Executive Leadership Team and provide feedback and consultation to agency management teams as needed
    • Ongoing assessment of programs reporting to the Clinical or Program Director(s) any deficiencies and plans of correction
    • Provide assistance and direction in recruitment hiring evaluation and termination of agency staff
    • In coordination with other departments develop a plan for the orientation development and ongoing training of staff regarding Family Support/Partnership
    • Review complaints generated by clients their representatives and/or other agents and develop plans to address each complaint satisfactorily
    • Develop and maintain effective communication streams between clinical program and administrative functions of the programs
    • Assist the Clinical or Program Director(s) in maximizing the effectiveness of our treatment services to youth and their families
    • Provide a role model to staff as to appropriate professional conduct
  • Program Intake: The FYP Manager supports the participation of staff in the client intake process ensuring that youth and families are aware of how to access advocacy and support services from Family and Youth Partnership.
  • Coaching and mentoring: The FYP Manager supports the coaching and education of youth parent or caregivers to acquire greater communication system navigation and self-regulation skills that are geared to help them take more effective advantage of treatment while assuring that their personal goals and outcomes are met.
  • Outreach: The FYP Manager supports staff in participating in CFT (Child and Family Team) meetings in family homes or in the community assessing their strengths and challenges providing parenting support informing them about the agencys services and linking them to community resources.
  • Mutual Support and Education Groups: The FYP Manager assesses ongoing education and groups that bring youth and families with similar challenges and concerns together.
  • Participation in Agency Wide Program Meetings and Management Decisions: The voice and perspective of youth and families is crucial to the development of all agency decision-making program development and treatment planning. The FYP Manager participates in program leadership meetings to give and exchange their perspectives on youth and family strengths youth and families as partners in the delivery of services and self-help support systems as well as the expressed needs concerning how the agency may better accommodate voice and choice in service delivery.
  • Participation in the Hiring Process: The FYP Manager participates in the interview process for potential agency employees providing an assessment of a potential candidates ability skill and inclination to provide services that are sensitive to and inclusive of voice and choice issues.
  • Community Advocacy: FYP Manager may participate in community trainings workgroups planning committees client treatment reviews and task forces related to childrens needs advocacy and policy development.

Agency Specific

  • Performs all duties in a manner consistent with the principles and values of agency while adhering to applicable professional codes of ethics the agencys policies and procedures contractor requirements and regulatory requirements.
  • Model and communicate appropriate positive attitudes toward the agencys Mission Vision and Values.
  • Work collaboratively with all agency programs and staff to provide support as needed
  • Maintain system of tasks management in Finance.
  • Utilize and maintain calendar with all work-related details in order to manage time effectively and share calendar information with coworkers.
  • Participate in on-going training to expand and develop professional skills.
  • Perform other duties as necessary for the agency as assigned.

    Employment At-Will
    Employment at the Agency is terminable at-will which means that employment may be terminated at any time without cause or reason by either the employee or the addition the Agency may also demote layoff transfer or reassign employees at any time at its sole discretion without cause or reason.
