Position Overview
Reports to: Chief Transformation Officer
Define and deliver data proposition that solves specific client problems and drive adoption across Gen IIs fund administrator client base. This role translates business strategy and requirements into technical execution working closely with technical teams ensuring product-market fit through deep client discovery rigorous prioritization and relentless focus on measurable value delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Define product vision and strategy based on market analysis competitive positioning and client needs
- Develop and maintain product roadmap with clear prioritization based on value effort and strategic alignment
- Identify and validate high-value use cases through structured client and market discovery
- Create detailed product specifications user stories and acceptance criteria for engineering teams
- Balance MVP speed with long-term product vision making pragmatic trade-off decisions
Client Discovery & Insights
- Conduct in-depth client discovery sessions to understand pain points workflows and desired outcomes
- Map client journeys identifying friction points where data products can deliver measurable value
- Translate client needs into specific product features with clear value propositions and ROI models
- Validate product concepts through prototypes mockups and pilot programs before full development
- Build feedback loops ensuring continuous product improvement based on actual usage patterns
Agile Product Delivery
- Lead agile ceremonies: sprint planning backlog grooming daily standups sprint reviews retrospectives
- Maintain prioritized product backlog with clear user stories epics and technical specifications
- Collaborate with Data Architect on technical feasibility implementation approach and architecture decisions
- Work with Data Quality Lead to define quality standards and acceptance criteria
- Partner with Client Success on onboarding plans training materials and support requirements
- Make rapid decisions on scope priorities and trade-offs to maintain delivery momentum
Product Launch & Commercialization
- Develop go-to-market materials: pitch decks demo scripts feature sheets pricing proposals
- Create compelling value propositions with quantified benefits and ROI calculations for each product
- Support sales team with product positioning competitive differentiation and client presentations
- Develop case studies documenting client success stories with measurable business impact
- Coordinate product launches including marketing training and client communications
Product Metrics & Performance
- Define and track product metrics: adoption rate usage patterns feature engagement NPS retention
- Establish data-driven feedback loops using analytics tools to inform product decisions
- Conduct quarterly product performance reviews with insights and recommendations
- Gather and synthesize client feedback through surveys interviews and usage analytics
- Identify opportunities for product expansion upsell and cross-sell based on usage insights
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 5 years product management/owner experience in B2B financial services or data products
- Strong understanding of fund administration workflows operations and data structures
- Proven track record launching products from concept to market with measurable adoption
- Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum Kanban) and product analytics tools
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical skills with ability to translate complex business problems into product solutions
- Excellent stakeholder management: building consensus managing expectations resolving conflicts
- Outstanding communication skills: writing product specs creating presentations conducting client discovery
- Data-driven decision making using metrics analytics and customer feedback
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to make pragmatic decisions with incomplete information
- Technical literacy to engage credibly with engineers on data models APIs and architecture
Domain Knowledge
- Fund accounting and reporting: NAV calculations capital calls distributions waterfall logic
- Private equity fund structures investment strategies and limited partner relationships
- Data modeling concepts and design principles for data products
- Familiarity with AI/ML applications BI and analytics platforms
Preferred Experience
- Background in fund administration asset servicing or alternative investments operations
- Experience with data visualization and analytics product development
- Knowledge of AI/ML applications in data products and understanding of capabilities/limitations
- Product management certification (CSPO PSPO CPM) or MBA
Success Metrics (12-Month Targets)
- Client discovery completed: interviews with documented insights and validated use cases
- Partner with key client(s) to build MVP
- Product satisfaction: NPS >50 with qualitative feedback showing value realization
- Go-to-market materials: Complete suite including pitch decks demos ROI models and case studies
- Product metrics dashboard: Established tracking for adoption usage engagement and retention
- Proposition Strategy and roadmap (quarterly milestones and prioritized backlog)
- Data proposition successfully launched with active clients
- Product satisfaction: NPS >50 with qualitative feedback showing value realization
The salary range for this position is $250000 - $275000 in addition to a discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits package. Please note that the actual salary offered within that range will depend on the candidates experience level.
Work Arrangement
