The deputy clerk provides effective and courteous customer service to a diverse population in person and on the telephone. The deputy clerk is assigned operational responsibilities in a high-volume office with frequent deadlines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Handle a wide range of customer service at our public service counter and on the telephone. The deputy clerk is assigned complex clerical and financial tasks to include researching the index to assign case numbers for new cases and motions; setting court dates and times; JCMS automated data entry as well as creating a file; the issuance of summonses and subpoenas. The deputy clerk may also assist the judge in court. Alpha/Numeric filing; by date and judge filing; accuracy is critical. Must possess the ability to lift and bend in order to retrieve files. May not be all-inclusive or totally comprehensive listed as a general explanation only. Must be able to multitask and assume additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications
Most competitive applicants will have excellent clerical and typing skills as well as customer service experience within a government agency. Knowledge of judicial or regulatory requirements that affect court operations is desirable. Must have the ability to respond and effectively interact with the public and external organizations or agencies with tact courtesy and patience. Good verbal and written communication skills are a must. Must be able to follow and explain procedures. Possess the ability to manage competing priorities. Discretion and integrity are a must in working with highly sensitive and confidential matters. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Additional Considerations
Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court experience and experience handling money
preferred.
