The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest most complex agencies in the state and has approximately 17000 employees. It is responsible for ensuring the health safety and well-being of all North Carolinians providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf blind developmentally disabled and mentally ill and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence.
Description of Work
The Childrens Developmental Services Agency (CDSA) is the lead agency responsible for the oversight of the administration of the North Carolina Infant-Toddler Program (NCITP) ensuring that evaluation case management and early intervention services/supports are available within a multi-county catchment area and that children eligible for the program receive recommended services either through a network of enrolled early intervention service providers or directly from the CDSA. The population served includes infants toddlers or preschoolers (children ages 0-3) with or at risk for developmental delays disabilities or atypical development.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Conducted standardized evaluations and behavioral health assessments to inform service planning.
Supported families in developing outcomes for inclusion in the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP).
Delivered behavioral health treatment to children and their caregivers across diverse needs.
Integrated families into the intervention process through collaborative strengthsbased practices.
Coached parents and caregivers to embed skillbuilding strategies into daily routines for ongoing development.

Veterans and National Guard Preference
Applicants seeking Veterans Preference must attach aDD-214 Member-4 Form(Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty) to their applications.
Applicants seeking National Guard Preference must attach an NGB 23A (RPAS) along with the state application if they are a current member of the NC National Guard in good standing.
Applicants who are former members of either the NC Army National Guard or the NC Air National Guard with honorable discharge and six years of creditable service must attach a copy of their DD 256 or NGB 22 along with the state application.

Minimum Education and Experience
Some state job postings say you can qualify by an equivalent combination of education and experience. Masters degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution; or Bachelors degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience; or Masters degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience; or Bachelors degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Professional Credential Required: Must have behavioral health clinical license (e.g. LCSW LPA LPC LMFT etc.) to practice therapy in NC.
