We are looking for a highly motivatedAssistant Controller to support the end-to-end finance operations for Wolt in Cyprus and Malta. In this role you will ensure accurate and compliant statutory reporting partner closely with local and global finance teams and play a key part in strengthening our financial processes as Wolt continues to scale.
What youll be doing
- Own the full spectrum of accounting activities for Cyprus and Malta including accurate and timely monthly closings annual financial statements and all required statutory reporting.
- Contribute to local and global finance initiatives supporting process improvements system implementations and ensuring compliance with both local regulations and global policies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including auditors tax advisors and cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate closely with local operational teams to ensure financial matters are well understood and properly supported.
- Work hand-in-hand with the R2R team engaging daily with GL accountants AP and AR specialists to ensure smooth and accurate financial operations.
- Support the Country Controller with ad-hoc tasks deeper analysis and project-based work as needed.
Our humble expectations*
- Background in accounting or controlling roles within a multinational environment.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- Masters degree or professional qualification (CPA/ACCA) is considered an advantage.
- Proven ability to solve problems autonomously and operate effectively in a fast-paced growing environment.
- Comfortable balancing hands-on daily accounting tasks with contributions to broader projects and process improvements.
- Excellent Excel skills; familiarity with financial systems and tools.
- Prior experience with Snowflake and SQL is an advantage.
- Prior experience with NetSuite is an advantage.
- Fluent in Greek and English both spoken and written.
- Based in Athens; hybrid work model available (mix of office and remote work).
