Role description:
Arcadis is currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our MEICA Water team as we look ahead to tackling some of the UKs most technically challenging projects & AMP8 programmes.
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer youll play a pivotal role in utilising your technical expertise on a wide range of clean water and wastewater projects both regionally and across the UK.

Role accountabilities:
- Ability to self-start and work both independently and as a team member carrying out production checking review or approval of mechanical design deliverables.
- Supporting and / or Leading design and advisory services relating to new and existing water and wastewater conveyance and treatment assets.
- Ensuring safety of yourself and others through design leadership and actions.
- Technical delivery within a multi-disciplinary team environment in a mechanical design Lead capacity where assigned using latest digital design processes and resources.
- Identify and develop innovative and optimised technical solutions based on client needs and drivers
- Co-ordinate work with multi-disciplinary teams (e.g. process civil structural mechanical electrical and ICA)
- Establish and grow relationships with clients and capital alliance partners on project technical commercial and progress matters
- Ensuring projects meet required technical legislative quality safety and environmental standards and objectives.
- Capturing key project and technical knowledge including innovations.
- Promote MEICA team capability and achievements both internally and externally.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other directly related degree
- Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status (or approaching) and membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g. IMechE IET CIWEM)
- Significant experience and track record in technical delivery of process plant systems on complex engineering projects preferably related to water and wastewater industry.
- Experience of working on design and construct projects using digital design platforms
- Team leader with collaborative behaviours
- Feasibility to detailed design stage delivery experience
