As Midnight Cloud Chaser continues to grow we are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse who enjoys combining hands-on clinical care with leadership mentoring and service development.
This role suits nurses who value relationships clinical autonomy and thoughtful decision-making over task-based care.
About the Role
This is a hands-on patient-facing Clinical Nurse role with additional responsibility for clinical leadership and service development.
In addition to working regular shifts the Clinical Nurse provides higher-level clinical oversight supports escalation and decision-making mentors staff and contributes to strengthening clinical systems training and practice across the service.
This is not a purely managerial role applicants must be willing and able to continue working directly with the client.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
Provide high-quality nursing care including:
Leadership & Clinical Oversight
Provide senior clinical decision-making and problem-solving during shifts
Support escalation and guidance for Registered Nurses and other team members
Mentor train and assess staff across different nursing areas of practice (e.g. respiratory care stoma care seizure management)
Contribute to:
Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
As part of Midnight Cloud Chasers holistic client-centred model of care all nursing staff actively participate in daily living supports alongside clinical care. This includes personal care meals routines overnight support light household tasks and community outings related to the client. ADLs are a shared responsibility within the nursing team and are an expected component of this role.
Other
Support complex communication needs and supported decision-making (training provided)
Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including physiotherapy assistants
Manual handling with appropriate equipment provided
Must love dogs
Qualifications & Skills
Essential
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
Minimum 5 years RN experience ideally in a relevant clinical area
Availability to work day evening and overnight shifts
Strong clinical judgement and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Integrity initiative attention to detail and professionalism
Highly Desirable
Experience in ICU A&E respiratory and/or stoma therapy
Advanced Life Support (ALS)
Experience in mentoring education or clinical leadership roles
Experience supporting people with complex disability or communication needs
Other Requirements
Up-to-date vaccinations CPR and First Aid
NDIS Worker Screening Check and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
Non-smoker

All roles at Midnight Cloud Chaser are shift-working positions requiring availability across day evening and overnight shifts.
