The Security and Loss Prevention Expert (SLP Expert) is a key leadership position within the Amazon Security and Loss Prevention (S&LP) team. This role leads the effort to efficiently and effectively provide End-to-End (E2E) S&LP services across all assigned operational business units. This position reports to the SLP Cluster Manager.
Key job responsibilities
* Identify vulnerabilities and conduct root cause analysis using data to define mitigating actions while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
* Actively monitor and report outcome for systems and tools that generate data indicating site/region opportunities.
* Manage confidential investigations and prepare prompt reports of theft fraud and workplace violence/critical incidents.
* Utilize continuous improvement to drive process enhancements and increase efficiency.
* Serve as departments liaison and security/crisis management subject matter expert keeping site leadership informed on departments key issues strategies and the performance.
*Effectively partnering with internal customers to evaluate current and future security needs processes and initiatives incident response planning facilitating and management.
* Domestic regional travel up to 50% of the time when applicable.
* Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push pull squat bend and reach; Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts; Work in an environment where the noise level varies and can be loud; Work in an environment that is subject to variable temperatures and weather (delivery stations include outside loading departments); Continuously climb and descend stairs (applies to sites with stairs).
* This role covers 24/7 operations and must be able to work all shifts including nights weekends and holidays.
A day in the life
As a Security & Loss Prevention (S&LP) Expert youll provide security services across multiple business units in your region. Youll conduct physical security audits investigate policy violations and loss events and analyze data to identify vulnerabilities and drive mitigation measures. Youll maintain site security systems manage external security providers and oversee supplier budgets. Your role includes leading high-impact projects collaborating with stakeholders across organizational levels delivering loss prevention education programs and implementing the S&LP strategic plan to ensure operational security excellence.

Worldwide Operations Security (WWOS) is the global organization that supports field Loss Prevention and is designed to support Amazons Worldwide Operations as well as affiliate and retail businesses by creating and maintaining a work environment that is both prepared and secure through global security centers of excellence staffed by subject matter experts in people and asset protection. - Bachelors degree or equivalent or 4 years of relevant professional or military experience
- A minimum of 2 years in security service OR loss prevention OR asset protection OR investigations OR law enforcement OR 2 years of Amazon blue-badge experience
- Experience in implementing metric-based strategies utilizing continuous improvement concepts
- Experience in physical security systems maintenance/implementation and coordinating scope of work with security vendors
- 2 years of operational experience in risk management audit data analytics inventory control quality assurance retail warehouse distribution center services delivery service or supply chain
- Investigative interviewing experience; Wicklander and Zulawski Loss Prevention Qualified Certified Protection Professional Loss Prevention Certified Certified Forensic Interviewer Certified Threat Assessment Certification or other relevant certifications
- Workplace incident mitigation or de-escalation and business continuity planning experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; including use of Excel pivot tables and development of charts/graphics

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
