Position Summary:
The Lead Medication History Technician collaborates with pharmacy staff interns and healthcare providers to develop and maintain an effective system for accurate timely medication histories for patients admitted at Covenant Health hospitals. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies by overseeing supervisory quality and administrative functions related to medication history and reconciliation.
Minimum Education:
None specified; will accept any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge skill and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job typically such as would be equivalent to a high school diploma or GED. Preference may be given to individuals possessing a Bachelors degree in a directly-related field from an accredited college or university.
Minimum Experience:
Five (5) years experience as a Pharmacy Tech with at least two (2) years performing medication history/reconciliation required.
Licensure Requirement:
Must be licensed by the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy. Nationally recognized Pharmacy board certification required. Acceptable certifications include: Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or BPTS ( Board of Pharmacy Technician Specialists) Certification. State approved PTCB Medication History certification required.
