Office of Chief of Staff - Human Resources

Job Focus Area
Human Resources Analyst/Specialist serve as the point of contact for our operations/benefits team who assists with benefits retirement and operational inquiries.

Minimum Qualifications

Four years of human resources experience; OR

Six years of full-time experience in any field plus one year of human resources experience; OR

A bachelors degree plus one year of human resources experience; OR

An advanced degree in human resources business administration public administration industrial and organizational psychology organizational behavior or a Juris Doctorate.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Designation as a Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) will substitute for a maximum of one year of the required experience.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

As a Human Resources Analyst/Specialist youll help create a positive impression for every person who requires HR this role you will:

  • Greet employeeswith kindness and professionalism
  • Enter employees into the system for LDOE hiresverify their information and assist with completing any necessary paperwork
  • Answer incoming calls route messages and provide requested information about HR services
  • Run payroll and other reports regularly to be proactive with bi-weekly assignments
  • Support the team with everyday tasks as needed

Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type:Probational Promotional or Job Appointment.The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office.Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment if selected.

Career Progression:This position participates in a Career Progression Group.As part of a Career Progression Group vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as aHuman Resources Analyst B C or Specialistdepending on the level of experience of the selected applicant.

Hourly: $18.04 - $35.40

Human Resources Analyst C(AS-615)

Hourly: $20.65 $40.53

Monthly: $3579 $7025

Annually: $42952 $84302


Human Resources Specialist(AS-617)

Hourly: $23.65 $46.41

Work Schedule:
Work hours are Monday - Friday. Work hours will be determined.

Compensation:
The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
