Production Controller - Submarines

Full-Time

Derby (Hybrid)

An exciting opportunity for a Production Controller has arisen within our submarines area in Derby.

In this role you will be the single point of contact for planning capacity across an identified group of work centres and to operate effectively with other roles that participate in planning and execution activities across the internal supply chain ensuring that the agreed production plan meets customer requirements while balancing load capacity and business priorities so that the executive planning system reflects a committed plan that can be used to measure performance with corrective actions identified to mitigate risks.

What you will be doing:

  • Collaborate with Production Planners and Production Leaders to ensure production plans meet material requirement dates and align with overall business priorities

  • Identify and escalate system data integrity issues ensuring the ERP accurately reflects WIP status and bookings.

  • Monitor key planning parameters and performance factors in real time to support informed decision-making.

  • Ensure all paperwork documentation and compliance requirements are completed before WIP leaves the cell.

  • Coordinate with Logistics to guarantee tooling availability and readiness for production.

  • Commit short-term production plans for execution considering resources capacity and machine availability while adhering to policies and RRMS.

Position Qualifications:

To be successful in this role we are looking for someone who is/has:

  • Educated to degree level or holds a relevant professional qualification.

  • Essential experience in production planning and control with manufacturing or P&CC experience.

  • Desirable experience in load and capacity management and working knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems.

  • Able to make decisions and take responsibility under challenging circumstances including for personal development.

  • Strong ability to influence others and work effectively across teams.
