About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Yarras Aboriginal Partnerships Unit and contribute to Councils commitments to self-determination cultural strength and improved outcomes for the First Peoples of Yarra.
Working under the guidance of the Principal Advisor Aboriginal Partnerships the Policy Advisor supports the development implementation and review of policies strategies and initiatives that strengthen Aboriginal participation visibility and partnership across Council. The role contributes to key frameworks including the Council Plan Health and Wellbeing Plan and the Yana Ngargna Policy Framework.
The role includes research and analysis assisting with policy advice and reports coordinating internal consultation supporting governance forums and contributing to First Peoplesled initiatives and partnership activities. It is well suited to someone seeking to deepen their policy skills within a collaborative and supportive team.
What Were Looking For
We are seeking a candidate with policy or research experience and an interest in contributing to work that supports improved outcomes for the First Peoples of Yarra. Experience working in local government or a comparable public policy setting is desirable but not essential.
