QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCHFAITH FORMATION COORDINATOR PK3 5th GRADEREPORTS TO: Pastor/Parish Administrator Full Time FLSA: Salary Exempt POSITION OVERVIEW The Faith Formation Coordinator for PK3 5th Grade of Queen of Peace Catholic Community serves the parish by recruiting training supervising supporting and evaluating a core team of volunteers and catechists for the PK3 5th grade Faith Formation program. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Effectively present a program that fosters a committed personal relationship with Jesus among the youth through their spiritual development exploration of the Catholic faith and how it relates in their families community and Church.
- Recruit train supervise motivate and evaluate a core team of volunteers for the Grades PK3 5th grade Faith Formation program.
- Responsible for obtaining the background checks and Protecting Gods Children workshop as required for the adult volunteers associated with the programs and that all catechists attend the required faith formation programs.
- Responsible for the annual budget associated with the program.
- Maintain an inventory of books videos supplies cabinet and facility keys.
- Prepare and maintain a current list of all students registration information and necessary documents for sacraments.
- In conjunction with the Director/Coordinator of Religious Education and Faith Formation Coordinators plan and prepare class curriculum.
- Work with the Parish Ministries Director for related information for the annual Stewardship Ministry book.
- Develop the registration forms and set registration dates with the other Faith Formation Director/Coordinators.
- Prepare all bulletins publication and announcements and direct them to the appropriate areas.
- Work with the other Faith Formation Director/Coordinators for planning all teacher and volunteer recognition and social events.
- Research and evaluate age-appropriate areas for the youth to be involved in service projects liturgy and ministries.
- Organize classrooms and supplies and provide teacher assignments and support.
- Promote and encourage all volunteers to attend Catechist training classes and other offerings for spiritual development.
- Arrange childcare for meetings and train the core team on how to use childcare for their committees.
- Participate with other Faith Formation Director/Coordinators in the development of the annual calendar.
- Attend monthly staff meetings meetings with the Faith Formation staff and other meetings as directed by the Pastor and immediate supervisor.
SACRAMENTS: FIRST RECONCILIATION AND COMMUNION - Recruit train and supervise a core team of volunteers to assist with classes preparation for the sacraments and necessary support.
- Develop and distribute necessary registration forms obtain required baptismal certificates and set up attendance recording.
- Train and assign catechists organize the classes and provide necessary supplies.
- Plan the sacramental curriculum in collaboration with the Director/Coordinator of Religious Education and Faith Formation Coordinators.
- Plan retreat for First Communion and all aspects of the celebration.
- Work with the Directors of Liturgy and Music to plan the services for the First Reconciliation and First Communion.
OCIA - Identify students and forward the information to the OCIA Director/Coordinator for children.
- Be aware of the policies and procedures for this program and refer questions to the OCIA Director/Coordinator.
LITURGY: - Responsible for scheduling dates preparing worship aids identifying children who will be involved with the Mass and providing them with the proper readings advice of proper attire communicating with parents about their childrens role and for their support and approval.
- Work with the Directors of Music and Liturgy regarding decorations design of the ceremony coordination of readings and music and setting necessary training times needing their assistance.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers clients vendors employees and the public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
