Overview

The Health Unit Assistant (HUA) provides essential administrative and clerical support to ensure smooth operations within a healthcare unit. This position requires strong communication skills attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The HUA serves as a central point of contact for staff patients families and other departments assisting with administrative functions patient flow and assisting with unit activities.

Responsibilities

Performs general secretarial/receptionist support to the department.
Handles mail performs routine copying and orders supplies.
Answers screens and routes calls. Communicates effectively with a wide variety of families and employees.
Uses multiple software: Microsoft Office (Word) and EPIC.

Qualifications

Education: High school graduate or equivalent.

Experience: 1 year of previous clerical customer service or other experience in healthcare setting required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Writes reads comprehends and speaks fluent English. Multicultural sensitivity. Microsoft Office basic computer skills. Customer/patient focused.
