HIRING SPECIFICATIONS:
Required:
1. High school diploma HiSET GED or equivalent.
2. HVAC maintenance experience.
3. Valid Iowa Drivers License
4. Minimum two years supervisory experience.
5. Journeyman or equivalent training or experience.
6. Competency with Microsoft Office tools and district purchased software.
7. Competency working in a culturally diverse environment or the willingness to
acquire these skills.
Desired:
1. Ability to read blueprints and calculate materials
2. Masters license in mechanical or HVAC with state of Iowa
BASIC FUNCTION:
Responsible for supervision training and directing the work of HVAC maintenance personnel and coordinates all facets of HVAC maintenance program. This position requires continuous use of independent judgment. The essential functions as shown below represent only the key areas of responsibility; specific position requirements will vary depending on the needs of the facilities operations department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Provide leadership and guidance to develop a system to maintain and monitor HVAC
maintenanceactivities.
2. Direct HVAC maintenance work of others while conducting own repairs.
3. Supervise train and direct the work of HVAC maintenance employees.
4. Conduct on-site HVAC maintenance inspections to ensure work is completed according to
District procedures.
5. Investigate the potential of new HVAC maintenance processes products and procedures.
6. Assist General Foreman in the daily operation and maintenance of building automation system.
7. Read blueprints and provide material take offs as needed to make repairs.
8. Perform maintenance duties on various plumbing systems and HVAC equipment
ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (for every DMPS position):
work on a prompt and regular basis.
2. Maintain confidentiality.
3. Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public students and other employees.
4. Assist with other duties as may be assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Constant standing. Frequent walking bending reaching pushing pulling climbing/stairs driving lifting 100 lbs and carrying 50 feet. Occasional driving telephone/computer/other manual dexterity tasks.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Frequent inside and outside in extremes of temperature/humidity.
