Pay Range -$97000to$140000 Yearly
Job Summary:
The Radiology Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations quality compliance and staff management of the radiology department. This role ensures safe efficient and high-quality diagnostic imaging services while maintaining regulatory compliance equipment integrity and staff competency.
Key Responsibilities:
Department Management:
Oversee daily operations of the radiology program and imaging services.
Track incoming radiology studies to ensure proper submission interpretation and reporting.
Ensure radiology equipment is properly maintained inspected and compliant with regulatory requirements.
Manage radiation safety and monitoring programs for employees exposed to radiation.
Develop implement and maintain radiology policies procedures and operational standards.
Ensure all quality assurance and quality control activities are completed and documented.
Prepare operational compliance and performance reports as required.
Coordinate and manage lead apron testing and radiation safety equipment compliance.
Collaborate with administrative and medical leadership to support quality improvement initiatives.
Work with finance teams to maintain imaging charge structures and identify opportunities for revenue optimization.
Manage imaging equipment evaluations quotes and procurement processes.
Staff Supervision & Training:
Provide daily supervision of radiology staff.
Conduct performance evaluations in a timely manner.
Ensure staff competency certification and training compliance for all imaging modalities performed.
Provide training and support related to imaging systems and picture archiving systems (PACS).
Perform radiologic examinations as qualified and competent as needed to support departmental operations.
Foster a collaborative high-performing team environment.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure compliance with federal state and accreditation standards applicable to diagnostic imaging services.
Maintain compliance with mammography quality standards and other applicable imaging regulations.
Ensure proper documentation and monitoring of radiation exposure and safety programs.
Additional Duties:
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Education Certifications & Licensure:
Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) required.
Mammography certification preferred.
Ultrasound certification preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Clinical competency validation within required timeframes.
Management competency validation within required timeframes.
Experience Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience in radiology management and staff supervision.
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
Experience with PACS systems.
CT and/or MRI technologist experience preferred.
Knowledge & Skills:
Knowledge of diagnostic imaging regulations accreditation standards and compliance requirements.
Understanding of digital imaging systems and workflows.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work across multiple computer systems and imaging platforms.
Strong organizational multitasking and leadership skills.
Ability to document medical and operational information accurately and efficiently.
Ability to develop training materials and departmental manuals.
Willingness and ability to learn new imaging procedures as required.
