Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Registered Nurse (RN) you will be a pivotal healthcare professional delivering compassionate high-quality care that truly impacts our patients well-being and recovery.
The Registered Nurse Circulator position is for our Cardiac Surgery team. Our surgical services nurses provide pre- intra- and post-operative nursing care to all patient populations undergoing surgical procedures. This work includes developing implementing and assessing the patient plan of care in collaboration with physicians interdisciplinary teams and the patient and family. Opportunity to develop and work with a highly engaged perioperative team in a dynamic environment with increasing surgery volumes and complexity. The CVOR team is a very experienced team with a high degree of teamwork in the OR. Opportunity exists to expand skills in a Level III Trauma Center and supportive team for learning.
- Adheres to the departments and hospitals policies and procedures including safety risk management and regulatory standards. Keeps abreast of trends developments and regulatory requirements impacting matters within designated scope of responsibility.
- Administers oversees and documents the administration of medications (e.g. topically orally intramuscularly subcutaneously and intravenously) as ordered by the healthcare practitioner and in accordance with hospital policy.
- Assesses patient to include physical psychosocial cultural behavioral/emotional developmental and spiritual needs. Gathers data relevant for patient care. Implements appropriate patient interventions and evaluates outcomes. Plans care appropriately based on needs identified during initial and on-going assessments. Provides holistic comprehensive and professional nursing care to patient within the scope of practice. Implements appropriate patient interventions and evaluates outcomes. Prepares patient for discharge and assists with coordinating post discharge needs.
- Cultural Sensitivity and Competence: Demonstrates proper use of available communication tools/materials for effective communication and understands how the culture(s) of patient populations can affect communication collaboration and the provision of care treatment and services. Patient Populations Served: Demonstrates knowledge and proper skills associated with the departments defined specific populations served.
- Demonstrates competent professional practice and engages in opportunities for professional growth. Demonstrates self accountability to meet stated deadlines for all mandatory requirements.
Job Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Completion of an approved OR residency or
- Minimum of one year previous OR experience
- Registered Nurse License: WA State
- Basic Life Support - CPR through the American Heart Association
Preferred
- Bachelors Of Science Nursing
- 2 years of related work experience in an acute care setting
- Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR)
- ACLS
