The role
This is an Aboriginal targeted role under GSE Rule 26. While Aboriginal identify is not essential to apply for this role and anyone can apply for this role Aboriginal people are encouraged to apply.
The Cross Government team part of the OLG Strategic Reform branch is responsible for acting as a conduit between the local government sector the NSW State Government and the Federal Government of Australia on matters of government policy regulations and priorities. As the Assistant Cross Government Officer you will support program management and stakeholder engagement across a diverse portfolio of government policy programs that enable councils to meet their legislative and organisational responsibilities. This is a hands-on role responsible for providing policy and project support with all the government sector as the key advisor to the NSW Government on local government matters.
Youll juggle multiple subject matters in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift and deadlines compete. Building strong relationships - especially with stakeholders who may have different views - is key. Youll also need to stay sharp on local government trends to keep programs relevant and effective while navigating evolving legislative frameworks and community expectations.
