The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention protection and preparation as well as the care custody and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody healthcare and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Other divisions include Administration Health Services Rehabilitation & Reentry Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters!

Description of Work

Direct a comprehensive psychological program involving the adult
services of an area mental health program; or direct a division of treatment services within a regional mental hospital or developmental center. Plans directs and implements the program; submits clinical program plans and objectives to agency management team based on present and future requirements. Supervises a small to medium number of psychologists (usually 8-20) and other staff. Provides expert psychological diagnosis and treatment through
consultation supervision of complex problem cases and direct service. Duties may also include applied research program development and professional development of staff. The greater portion of time is spent in the management functional areas.

Salary Pay Range: $92184 - $152104

Key Responsibilities:

  • Documented knowledge of behavior dynamics and psychological principles
  • Documented knowledge of principles of therapy and behavior modification
  • Documented knowledge of psychological tests and interpretation of tests
  • Documented experience in coordination of a diverse program of psychological services

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) withState Benefits.
