Position Overview

The EHS Manager reports directly to the Plant Manager at the facility and be responsible for providing focus

definition and technical expertise for the development of a proactive Environmental Health and Safety plan

that is consistent with Pactiv Evergreens (PTVE) corporate policies vision and values; and is in compliance

with local state and federal EHS regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Drive the development and implementation of EHS policies procedures and programs.

Lead the implementation and execution of the EHS Pillar for the Pactiv Evergreen Production System

(PEPs)

Oversees plant safety portion of all regulatory audits both internal and 3rd party.

Implement the PTVE Environmental Health and Safety Management Technical Standards.

Maintain updated OSHA and EPA required written programs and develop/conduct training as

necessary.

Oversee the reporting and investigations of any potential injury accident and/or health and safety

related issues.

Conduct water sampling and outfall inspections to maintain regulatory compliance.

Provide tactical leadership through proactively identifying areas of improvement development of

solutions and then implementing to bring change.

Promote our Zero Harm culture

Oversee and conduct the necessary environmental health and safety training to support and enhance

the organizations safety culture.

Develop and deploy policies procedures programs to support best-practice and identify best-

practices with the PTVE system.

Provide communication and training to plant management establish and maintain communications

reporting assessments training programs and guidance.

Work with the Corporate EHS departments and provide prioritized direction and technical expertise to

the engineering organizations or contractors in implementing EHS projects.

Have a relentless pursuit for injury prevention compliance and risk reduction.

Be capable of aligning the local team and influencing others to achieve the desired EH&S

performance objectives outlined by corporate initiatives business unit initiatives and local/site

initiatives.

Review and analyze data to determine the next opportunity to improve EH&S performance.

Bring experience with innovative EH&S compliance and risk reduction techniques via employee

engagement behavior-based safety programs risk assessments and understanding of implementing

managing and sustaining EH&S programs in a manufacturing environment.

Education and/or Experience Requirements (Qualifications)

Education:

BA/BS degree in Occupational Safety & Health Environmental Engineering or technical discipline or

related field or 3 year in a related field

Must have certification as a Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) or have the ability to certify within six

months.

Experience:

3 years of progressive and related professional health and safety experience in a manufacturing or

industrial environment.

Environmental experience is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Proficient in MS Office

Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills and the ability to

communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.

Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and

multiple internal customers.

Strong analytical skills as well as organizational skills.

Solid project management capabilities with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects

simultaneously from origin through execution.

Well-developed leadership and motivational skills with proven ability to influence and motivate others

to quickly achieve results.

Ability to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines.

Ability to travel (5%).

Must be team oriented with the ability to work on high collaboration and performance teams.
