High School Summer Credit Recovery Program
Program Coordinator
(1 position)
Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts Teacher Certification with an SEI Endorsement
- Successful teaching and/or administrative experience.
- Ability to plan and supervise the implementation of standards based curriculum in Reading/Language Arts and Mathematics.
- Relate/communicate effectively with teachers students parents and administrators.
- Ability to relate /communicate effectively with teachers students parents and
- administrators.
- Coordinator must commit to being present for each day of the program. See dates below for more info.
Qualifications (Preferred):
- Valid Massachusetts Administrator license as a principal/assistant principal and/or supervisor/director.
- Previous experience leading summer or after school programs preferred.
- Experience working in the Malden Public Schools.
- ESL Licensed
- License in Special Education.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate referral process and coordinate registration/scheduling of students including all communications with principals teachers and caregivers.
- Order/process materials.
- Coordinate implementation of instruction during the program including liaising with curriculum directors to plan for standards-aligned summer instruction.
- Maintain student attendance records.
- Write a program evaluation document.
- Coordinate staff development meetings including upto 2 in-service days.
- Work with Finance office to coordinate effective record-keeping regarding student payment and maintain payroll records of teachers.
- Oversee family communication and outreach
- Hire and oversee staff for program
- Communicate with MHS Administration and Guidance Counselors regarding student progress and implications for transcripts
Duration:
Program Administration and Implementation 210 hours total to include the following:
- 110 hours over 20 days Monday-Thursday from July 6 to July 30 (7:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.).
- Approximately 1 hour a week of Pre/Post Program Work: 40 hours (February to August)
Stipend: $40 an hour $6000 total
Funding Source: Budget
