Job Summary
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) IMC / IICU / Surgical Stepdown Night Shift
Location: Columbia SC
Unit: SSU / Surgical Step Down (Intermediate Intensive Care)
Shift: Night Shift 3x12-Hour (7:00 PM 7:30 AM)
Schedule: 36 Hours/Week
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
Job Overview
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) IMC / IICU / Surgical Stepdown for a high-acuity progressive care unit. This role supports adult trauma medical surgical and neurological patients requiring frequent monitoring and advanced interventions.
Minimum Requirements
Active South Carolina or Multistate RN License (Pending licenses not accepted)
2 years of RN experience
At least 1 completed travel assignment required
Previous ICU / IICU experience required (acuity minimum 1:3)
First-time travelers accepted with 3 years specialty experience
Critical care experience required
Required Certifications
BLS
ACLS
NIHSS
Patient Population & Unit Details
Adult patients: trauma medical surgical and neurology
Frequent monitoring and interventions every 12 hours
Direct admissions ICU transfers and Rapid Response escalations
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3
Equipment available: Hercules repositioners ceiling lifts Airtaps

Critical Care & Monitoring
Cardiac monitoring and telemetry
Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
Emergency response and rapid stabilization
ICU / IICU-level patient care
Medication & Infusions
Titration of cardiac drips
Titration of vasoactive drips
Respiratory & Advanced Care
Ventilator management (required)
Acceptable Backgrounds

Progressive Care (PCU DOU IMC Stepdown) based on acuity
Charting
EPIC experience required (1 year)
