Job Summary

Williams College Childrens Center is looking for experienced teachers to join our team dedicated to providing quality child care and education. This is a full-time year-round regular appointment. The Williams College Childrens Center has a warm and inviting program with state-of-the-art facilities developed expressly for early childhood education.

We are looking for someone who will respond to childrens interests and strengths and use those insights in collaboration with other staff to create project-based emergent curriculum. You will enthusiastically participate in school-wide staff inquiry and development and show a commitment to advancing a career in Early Childhood Education.

Qualifications:

  • At least one year of experience with early childhood education or a combination of education and experience is required.
  • Passion for and knowledge of early education and care principles and developmentally appropriate practices
  • A degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with experience in an early care setting is preferred but not required
  • Candidates must meet the teacher certification requirements established by the Department of Early Education and Care or be able to obtain within 12 months with coursework covered by Williams

Physical Demands & Essential Functions:

To ensure the safety and well-being of the children in the Center this position requires the ability to:

  • Move and transport children and/or equipment weighing up to 35 pounds across campus for various classroom and event needs.
  • Remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time and move quickly from a seated to a standing or moving position to respond to urgent child safety needs.
  • Position oneself to interact with children at eye level (including on the floor or low chairs).
  • Observe and detect hazards in the environment to ensure child safety indoors and outdoors.
  • Traverse the campus with children for extended periods of time.

Pay starts at $21 per hour commensurate with experience education and relevant certification.

New hires pursuing teacher certification will receivefull coverage for all coursework. You will begin as anAssistant Teacherand be promoted toTeacher with a pay increase once certified.
