ATCO is looking for a driven Pipeline Integrity & Risk Engineer to play a central role in safeguarding the performance compliance and long term reliability of our high pressure steel pipeline network.
In this hands on technical role youll lead and support AS2885 Safety Management Studies (SMS) influence Safety Case alignment and help evolve our integrity management practices across the network. Youll be the key connector across Pipeline Integrity Technical Compliance Engineering Projects and Land Management-ensuring pipeline risks are identified early assessed effectively and communicated clearly.
What Youll Be Doing
- Lead or coordinate AS2885compliant Safety Management Studies (SMS) and contribute to thirdparty risk assessments ensuring outputs meet internal and regulatory requirements.
- Turn SMS outcomes into clear Risk Management Action Plans and ensure risk processes align with Safety Cases and ATCO frameworks.
- Coordinate riskrelated pipeline integrity activities under AS2885.3 and support the development and upkeep of Pipeline Integrity Management Plans.
- Analyse pipeline integrity data to inform asset strategies investment planning and future integrity programs.
- Develop business case documentation and provide technical advice to Engineering and Land Management teams on pipeline safety controls for thirdparty encroachment.
- Maintain and govern Safety Management Study databases while enhancing systems used for reporting tracking and managing pipeline integrity data.
About You
Essential
- Degree in Engineering.
- Experience with risk management principles and workshop scribing/facilitation.
- Strong analytical diagnostic and problem solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills able to influence across diverse technical stakeholders.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and document/data management systems.
- Solid understanding of process safety.
Desirable
- Experience with natural gas pipeline operations/maintenance under AS2885 and AS4645.
- Exposure to facilitating SMS or other structured formal safety assessments.
- Advanced capability with Excel Power BI or similar tools.
