This position is Contingent Upon Contract Award.
The Quality Supervisor oversees inspection personnel and operations to ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs). Responsibilities include ensuring maintenance data is current overseeing inspection and tool calibration performing final airworthiness determinations managing corrective action processes providing feedback to the Quality Manager on Quality Management System (QMS) improvements acting as the Chief Inspector to the FAA and ensuring personnel are properly trained and qualified.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise inspection personnel and daily quality operations to ensure compliance with FARs.
- Ensure all maintenance data manuals and technical publications are current and accessible.
- Oversee inspection processes and ensure proper calibration of tools and equipment.
- Perform final airworthiness determinations before aircraft return to service.
- Manage corrective action processes and ensure timely resolution of quality issues.
- Provide feedback to the Quality Manager on QMS improvements and compliance gaps.
- Act as Chief Inspector and primary point of contact with the FAA for inspection-related matters.
- Ensure all inspection personnel are properly trained qualified and certified as required.
Qualifications
- Licensed FAA A&P Mechanic.
- Bachelors degree in Aviation Maintenance Quality Assurance or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Extensive experience in aircraft inspection and quality control within aerospace or defense programs.
- Strong knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and airworthiness standards.
- Proven ability to manage inspection teams and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Excellent leadership communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Background
- Experience with military aviation maintenance programs.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Inspector Authorization certification.
- Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality standards.
