Description

Were seeking a Risk Manager Treasury for our Treasury Market Risk team to oversee traded and nontraded market risk within Westpac Group Treasury. This role supports the Senior Manager and offers strong exposure to senior stakeholders.

Whats the role

Youll provide independent oversight of Treasurys market risk exposures including analysis of sensitivities ValueatRisk (VaR) stress testing and key Profit and Loss (P&L) drivers. Youll monitor structural risk limits support limit framework reviews and ensure alignment with the Australian Prudential Standards (APS 116 and APS 117) and the Groups broader Risk Management Framework.

Youll work closely with teams across Treasury Market Risk Reporting Market Risk Analytics Model Risk and Group Stress Testing to deliver insights on capital earnings emerging risks and model performance. The role also contributes to enhancing market risk governance documentation and oversight processes.

What do I need

Were looking for someone who brings:

  • At least 5 years experience in financial markets or risk ideally with exposure to traded and nontraded market risk.
  • Strong understanding of market risk concepts including sensitivities VaR stress testing and structural risk.
  • Solid knowledge of fixed income and FX derivatives including pricing fundamentals.
  • Understanding of APS116 and APS117 and the broader Australian regulatory environment.
  • Strong analytical and numerical capability with technical skills in Python SQL R or VBA viewed favourably.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to translate complex analysis into clear insights.
  • A collaborative accountable and resilient working style with the ability to manage multiple priorities and support junior team members.
