The role:
We currently have an opportunity for a registered nurse to join our patient transport service team on a part-time basis as a Flight Nurse at Bankstown Airport.
Key responsibilities will include:
collect and record patient information during transfers;
undertake nursing interventions in accordance with clinical practice guidelines;
Coordinate the transition of the patient from one mode of transport to the next
Actively participate in the loading / unloading and manoeuvring of patients pre and post transfer ensuring the use of appropriate manual handling techniques and standard operating procedures
Maintain CareFlight standard operating procedures and clinical treatment protocols including adapting to changes as they occur
Clean and restock equipment / supplies at completion of patient transfer
About you
To be successful in this role you will be registered with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse and be available to attend mandatory training held at Bankstown Airport. In addition you will be able to demonstrate you have:
A minimum of five years experience working in an acute care setting
A current certification in ALS / APLS
A current IV cannulation certification
Ability to work under clinical practice guidelines
Strong knowledge and understanding of safety and quality principles as they pertain to role
The willingness and ability to function effectively as a team member
Comfortable working in confined space and out of hospital environments
Effective interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
Effective consultation negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Good Microsoft Office skills
Current drivers licence
Current Working with Children clearance or the ability to obtain
The following will also be highly regarded:
Previous experience working in a patient transfer setting
