Job Summary

Pharmacist In Charge - Galena Illinois 61036

Full time permanent onsite role.

Salary - $130000 to $140000/ year

This facility has multiple openings.

1. Galena IL 61036

Shift timing - Monday- Friday -9:00AM-6:30PM (Pharmacy will close 12:30-1:00PM for Lunch) (Pharmacy opening date 4/10/2026)

2. Nacogdoches Texas 75961

Shift timing - Monday-Friday - normally between 8:00AM-5:00PM some exceptions per clinic. (Set to open April or May of 2026)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Primary Role: Preparing and dispensing appropriate pharmaceuticals to patients leading a team of pharmacy technicians and managing the overall day-to day pharmacy responsibilities. the The job entails a high level of responsibility and knowledge.

Essential Job Functions:

Review and execute providers prescriptions checking their appropriateness and legality
Organize the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster
Maintain full control over medication inventory stocking and labeling medicine and other products and monitor their condition to prevent expiring or deterioration
Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues and offer information and advice.
Prepare medicine when appropriate using correct dosages and material for each individual patient
Maintain patient profiles and history of all activities regarding medications dispensed
Keep abreast and stay current with HIPAA and Frauds Waste and Abuse credentialing
Comply with all applicable legal rules regulations and procedures
Responsible for ensuring that the Pharmacy and its employees are compliant with Federal State and Local laws regulated
Ensures that the Pharmacy and its employees are aware and compliant with local facilities policies
Responsible for directing the daily work of Pharmacy Technicians this includes providing input into performance evaluations and advising Senior Management of any behavioral and/or performance issues.
Responsible for managing the Pharmacy Technicians schedules. This includes advising Senior Management of any request for leave of absences or medical accommodations.
Other duties as necessary

Requirements

Required Education & Skills:

HS Diploma or equivalent
Current License to practice (PharmD) in Illinois
Excellent oral written skills

Experience:

Previous leadership role helpful
Must be able to utilize Patient Management System in the Pharmacy
Min 3-5 years retail pharmacy manager experience

Physical Requirements:

Standing for prolong periods of time
Use of hands to handle control or feel objects tools or controls
Fine Motor Skills

Skills and Certifications note: bold skills and certification are required
min. 3-5 years retail pharmacy management exp.
Great leadership communication and management skills

Screening Questions
Do you have minimum 3-5 years retail pharmacist management experience
Do you possess a Doctorate of Pharmacy Degree as well as an active pharmacy license for the state of Illinois

Ideal CandidateCandidates should have min. 3 years pharmacy manager experience.

Candidate should have previous retail pharmacy experience to be considered.

NOTE - Please ensure all candidates have an active Pharmacist License within the state of Illinois we will not consider anyone that is in proceess of getting their license and or have not received their license.

The pharmacy is closed on the weekends and most major holidays.
