Job Summary

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The Mortgage Sales Assistant II works closely with Mortgage Loan Originators to ensure borrowers financial data and creditworthiness meets program guidelines. This position calculates income for all types of income including self-employed borrowers. The Mortgage Sales Assistant II assists in training the Mortgage Sales Assistant I.

This position requires S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). The NMLS web site provides the MU4R questions and registration required for employment in this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Analyze financial data to determine creditworthiness. This duty is performed daily about 20% of the time.

2. Maintain knowledge of available loan products processing procedures and underwriting guidelines. This duty is performed daily about 10% of the time.

3. Review borrower applications. This duty is performed daily about 10% of the time.

4. Utilize communication and access of daily rates credit reports and DU responses and transmitting to processor. This duty is performed daily about 10% of the time.

5. Collect appropriate documentation from each applicant and deliver loan package to processor in a timely manner. This duty is performed daily about 15% of the time.

6. Maintain high levels of customer service while managing each applicants and support staffs expectations. This duty is performed daily about 10% of the time.

7. Attend and participate in all lending meetings as required. This duty is performed daily about 10% of the time.

8. Provide guidance and assistance to new Mortgage Loan Assistants. This duty is performed as needed about 5% of the time.

9. Maintain an NMLS registration throughout employment as a Mortgage Sales Assistant. This duty is performed daily about 10% of the time.

10. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. This duty is performed daily.

11. Complete BSA/AML training and other compliance training as necessary. This duty is performed quarterly.

12. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting marketing business administration finance etc. Equivalent to a four year college degree plus 4 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to read analyze and understand general business/company related articles and professional journals; ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest commissions proportions percentages area circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions ratios and proportions to practical situations.

CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral or diagram formats.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Somewhat disagreeable working conditions. Continuously exposed to one or two elements such as noise intermittent standing walking pushing carrying or lifting. May involve some travel and/or work is at times in the evening or during the night hours.
