Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Health Assistant to join our school healthservices this role you will work closely with the onsite Registered Nurse to support the health and well-being of students and staff. The Health Assistant will assist in providing first aid administering medications managing student health records and ensuring the overall safety and wellness of the school community. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills a strong commitment to student health and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic school environment. Reports to: Associate Head of Lower School Terms: Full-time non- exempt Hours: 8:30am - 4:30pm school year
Job Responsibilities The following list is not comprehensive but serves as a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. Provides appropriate health care for students (Age one year - Grade 8) - Provide immediate care for minor injuries such as cuts bruises and scrapes.
- Provide appropriate medical intervention to students who are injured or become ill during the school day including on site school athletics.
- Help administer all prescription and nonprescription medication as delegated by the registered nurse.
- Follow care plans for students with chronic health conditions (e.g. allergies asthma diabetes tracheostomy seizure management) as delegated by the registered nurse.
Helps Registered Nurse maintain health records and relevant medical history of students - Updates necessary health information including immunization records in the database system.
- Follow up with parents about missing student health information.
- Manages confidential information responsibly.
- Log visits to the Health Office in an online database.
Prepares paperwork and medication for off-site trips as delegated by Registered Nurse - Help prepare and organize all required health-related paperwork such as medical consent forms emergency action plans and medication authorizations for each student participating in trips.
- Collaborate with registered nurse and trip organizers and other staff to ensure that all health-related safety measures including first aid supplies are in place before and during trips.

Qualifications and Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification in health care (CNA or equivalent) preferred.
- First Aid CPR certified preferred. Must be obtained within the first three3 months of employment.
- Previous health assistant in a school setting and/or experience working with the pediatric population preferred.
- Must obtain CPR/First Aid instructor certification within one year of employment.
- Strong communication interpersonal and organizational skills for effectively supporting students parents and staff.
- Strong data entry with knowledge of and experience with office software including Google Suite and Microsoft Office (Word Excel)

Compensation and Benefits Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. Salary is between $46000-$52000 annually.
