About the Opportunity:

As the Funding Analyst you will play a key role in supporting the Financial Planning team in meeting its full scope of responsibilities including funding reporting accountability and assessing the impact of changing requirements. Reporting to the Manager Corporate Reporting & Accountability you will contribute to financial analysis service provider funding processes and system improvements while ensuring data accuracy and effective reporting.

Key responsibilities:

  • Producing external reports including Treasury Board Submission components and Quarterly & Annual Performance Reports
  • Supporting the reporting and analysis of CLBCs performance results and program expenditures
  • Analyzing and reporting on service provider funding data to ensure equitable application of contract negotiation principles
  • Conducting financial analysis to support cross-ministry strategic initiatives and collective bargaining developments
  • Acting as the primary contact for CLBCs annual service provider rate collection process including reviewing submissions and providing guidance
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of contract costing tools and related systems
  • Conducting user acceptance testing (UAT) on automation tools and financial extract modules
  • Supporting the development and implementation of improvements to CLBCs funding model policies and procedures
  • Maintaining financial databases tracking funding communications and supporting internal budgeting processes
  • Developing training materials and guiding regional staff on contract costing tools and funding processes
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and assisting in system enhancements

What you will bring:

  • Relevant Bachelors Degree in Commerce/Business Administration preferably with a concentration in accounting or finance
  • Enrolled in or planning to enroll in the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP)
  • Multi-faceted policy and/or program/funding assessment and reporting of financial results
  • Analysis and reporting within a multi-location environment
  • Proven ability in process development within a large and complex organization; not-for-profit/government preferred

We are also looking for:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong experience with MS Word and web-based contract management systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and synthesize complex data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to create clear and concise reports
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to exercise sound judgment in financial analysis and decision-making
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of initiative while also collaborating as part of a team
