Description
Hotstart has an opening for a Purchasing Agent (Buyer II). This role requires demonstrated experience in purchasing vendor management and cost-effective procurement practices. The Buyer II works closely with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials while maintaining optimal inventory levels. Additionally the Buyer II recommends improvements to purchasing processes evaluates supplier quotes and recommends desirable supply choices.
This is a full-time in-office position based in Spokane WA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process requisitions issue purchase orders and manage order tracking to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.
- Source evaluate and select suppliers based on quality cost delivery and reliability criteria.
- Negotiate pricing contracts and terms with vendors to achieve cost savings and favorable agreements.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery quality or service.
- Collaborate with production engineering and inventory teams to determine material needs and priorities.
- Evaluate inventory levels for products and supplies and monitor trends to determine order points and purchase quantities.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement in the procurement cycle and recommend strategies to enhance efficiency.
- Collaborate with accounting and suppliers to address discrepancies with invoices purchase orders or shipments.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- A bachelors degree in supply chain management business administration or a related field is preferred. Relevant work experience will be considered in place of a degree.
- A minimum of 3 years of hands-on purchasing experience is required; experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong analytical communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office is required; experience working within an MRP/ERP system is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes materials planning and inventory control.
- Certification in supply chain or purchasing (e.g. CSCP/CPIM CPSM) is preferred.
