Role description:

Arcadis Toronto office is searching for a Transit Technology Analyst/Specialist at any experience level with a passion to plan design and deploy technology solutions for transit agencies and other shared mobility providers.

You will work in multi-disciplinary project teams across North America including with other offices such as in Atlanta Boston Portland San Francisco Seattle and Vancouver.

In this role you will help plan design and deploy a range of technology systems including fare collection solutions such as open payment platforms smart cards and mobile apps. You will work on transit scheduling systems to optimize vehicle and crew schedules as well as rostering. Your responsibilities will also involve fleet tracking and operations management to ensure buses streetcars and trains are in service and remain on schedule. Additionally you will contribute to customer information systems such as trip planners and arrival prediction tools and support on-demand shared mobility initiatives including multimodal trip integration and microtransit services. Further areas of focus include developing business intelligence solutions for data integration warehousing and analytics as well as implementing security systems for onboard and facility environments.

You will be involved in a variety of work including identifying technology solutions that address client needs and defining an integrated technology vision along with a project sequence to enable a smooth transition. Your responsibilities will also include developing system requirements selecting appropriate contractors and guiding system implementation by reviewing designs and conducting system testing. Additionally you will help agencies adapt their processes to fully leverage new technologies.

Climate change urbanization and digitization trends are requiring todays mobility projects and systems to address an evolving set of demands from the worlds growing population. We design connected sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies and optimize the mobility of people and goods.

Role accountabilities:

Planning technology solutions through tasks such as conducting needs assessments leading stakeholder engagement identifying and evaluating alternatives preparing schedule and cost estimates and developing strategic plans;

Developing system specifications and procurement documents then working with transit agencies to assess and select the best solutions;

Implementing solutions through tasks such as managing solution providers reviewing designs conducting testing and providing expert guidance;

Working with colleagues across Arcadis (including planning data software engineering and architecture professionals) to produce creative ideas and solutions;

Preparing project deliverables such as presentations memos and reports

Leading business development pursuits representing Arcadis at industry events and building partnerships; and

Helping with proposal preparation to pursue new work.

Qualifications & Experience:

Passion for improving transit and shared mobility!

Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

Demonstrated ability to achieve goals in an innovative dynamic and fast paced environment;

Bachelors in Engineering or Urban Planning;

Ability to work at Toronto office and GTHA client sites when needed;

Ability to travel outside of GTHA including across Canada when needed(typically about 5% of time);

Ability to travel to the USA when needed preferred (typically about 5% of time).

The salary range for this position is $75000-$80000 per year. The base salary represents Arcadis hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors such as location skills experience and qualification for the role.
