Job Description

This position is within the Fisher BioServices business unit and is responsible for the receipt inventory storage and shipping of clinical agents or biological specimens to various clinical sites and/or laboratories. These materials are stored at temperatures ranging from ambient to -196C with potentially hazardous properties. This position uses database applications and standard precautionary procedures to work independently be self-directed communicate effectively and use good judgment when making decisions. Internal or external client interaction occurs under the guidance of experienced professional or technical staff.

Due to business needs must be flexible to work varying schedules hours and overtime as needed. Travel will be required to Division sites between Rockville and Frederick (will be told in advance).

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Certificates and/ or Licenses:
Experience:
Required 1 years work experience with data entry shipping/receiving sample management.
Proven track record to consistently and independently follow policies and procedures instructions and to meet schedules required.
Need basic digital literacy to navigate inventory systems Microsoft Office and shipping software in order to support the operation in its daily functions.
proven ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written form.
knowledge of Universal Precautions general laboratory and quality assurance/control.
Preferred Experience:
Prefer 3 years work experience with data entry shipping/receiving sample management.
Knowledge Skills Abilities
Good social skills and customer service skills required.
Ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.
Must be ready to start work timely daily and maintain strong attendance performance.
Ability to follow general instruction on routine work and detailed instruction on new projects to complete assigned tasks. Accuracy is required in performing all functions of this position; errors in work could cause delays in schedules.
Training will be provided through one-on-one instruction on-the-job training (OJT) Thermo Fisher Scientific generated Standard Training Protocol (STP) and/or other training documentation.
Working Conditions:
Cold environments ranging from ambient to -196C with exposure to dry ice liquid nitrogen cryogenics hazardous and infectious agents marked changes in temperature.
Perform work of a highly repetitive nature.
Will walk stand reach and lift up to 50lbs on a continuous basis.
Routinely push and pull up to 50lbs.
May occasionally sit kneel crouch and crawl.

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $14.41$21.61.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company team and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
