Job Summary

As a Sr. Data Engineer (Splunk) youll deliver Splunk data engineering and platform operations for continuous monitoring and analysis with the goal to make an impact across the federal government. Our team is responsible for operating and evolving mission-critical SIEM and monitoring platforms and youll ensure reliable secure and scalable Splunk capabilities that directly support mission operations and decision-making from day one.

What youll do:

Design and manage Splunk data ingestion pipelines and dashboards supporting mission-critical use cases.
Operate and maintain Splunk Enterprise in a secure high-availability environment.
Support security monitoring detection and incident response operations.
Participate actively in Agile execution and team delivery cadence.
Optimize data pipelines performance and data quality across the platform.
Communicate technical insights risks and issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence through technical excellence and reliable delivery.
Apply creativity and sound engineering judgment to deliver innovative solutions aligned to customer needs.

What youll need to succeed:

An active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required.
Bachelors degree in a technical field is preferred (relevant experience may substitute).
5 years of experience in data management or systems administration including at least 3 years of hands-on Splunk GA experience.
Demonstrated expertise in data onboarding parsing indexing and dashboard development.
Experience operating Splunk Enterprise in regulated or high-security environments.
Holds Splunk Certified Core Consultant or Splunk Certified Enterprise Security Admin certification.
Meets DoD 8140 DCWF Role 521 Cyber Defense Infrastructure Support Specialist requirements with certifications such as GMON GRID CEH Cloud CySA GSEC PenTest Security or SSCP.
Ability to contribute immediately with minimal ramp-up.

SALARY RANGE: $170000 - $239000

The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications skills and relevant experience. The final salary offered will be determined based on several factors including:

The candidates professional background and relevant work experience
The specific responsibilities of the role and organizational needs
Internal equity and alignment with current team compensation
This role is also eligible for additional compensation subject to the terms and policies of MetroStar which may include:

Performance-based bonuses
Company-paid training and/or certifications
Referral bonuses
