About the role
Reporting to the Home Manager at CalvaryRye Sands located in Rye.
We are looking for experienced Chef who is passionate about providing an exceptional food offering to our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and oversee the preparation of daily meals for residents that meet their special dietary requirements eg; texture modified allergen compliant culturally relevant.
- Ensure the menu is adhered to and residents receive meals of choice.
- Ensure all meals prepared and served are fresh well presented appetising and aromatic.
- Act as the Nominated Food Safety Supervisor for the site
What you bring
- Significant experience in a similar role in the residential care or health care sectors.
- Knowledge of the various legislative and regulatory requirements relevant to the catering service within the residential care sector.
- Working knowledge of menu planning ordering managing stock levels IDDSI staff supervision and allergen management.
- An approved cooking course such as a Certificate in Cooking and/or Certificate in Advanced Culinary Techniques and/or experience managing an aged care catering operation
- Previous experience and working knowledge of menu planning ordering and special diet preparation (desirable)
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (Health Care Competencies)
- A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
