Job Description:
- This posting is for a Full-Stack Software Engineer in the Product Platforms this role the engineer will participate in all aspects of requirements gathering design development and support of software products supporting Bayer Crop Science -- true cradle-to-grave ownership.
- Teams in our organization use Agile development methodologies.
Responsibilities include:
- Direct interaction with business users and other technical teams
- Collaboration with Product Management on product backlogs and raodmaps
- Cradle-to-grave ownership of software products
- Ownership of applications supporting AWS infrastructure test automation and CI/CD pipelines
POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to define and design new features ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Development: Build and maintain software applications using a range of technologies focusing on performance and scalability.
- Code Review: Participate in code reviews to provide constructive feedback and promote best practices among team members.
- Support: Provide support for application issues ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
- Agile Participation: Engage actively in agile development processes including sprint planning daily stand-ups and retrospectives.
- Architecture Contribution: Assist in the design and architecture of systems ensuring they meet current and future business needs.
- Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for code and processes.
REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES
Education Requirement(s):
- Computer Science or related degree preferred
Skill & Competency Requirements:
- 3 years of experience in full-stack software development for mid-level positions; 5 years for expert-level positions.
- Proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks including UI development in React and API development.
- Familiarity with building APIs and microservices.
- Knowledge of cloud services with AWS preferred and experience with cloud-based architectures.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in agile teams.
Preferences:
- Experience in the agriculture or crop science industry.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. AWS Certified Developer).
