Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY:

Overall planning staffing and operation of the Districts Federal Programs PK-12 Summer School Program.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of: PK-12 curriculum and supervisory practices.

Skilled in: (1) Visionary ethical instructional leader focused on equity and student achievement (2) Strong communicator and collaborative relationship-builder (3) Skilled in staff supervision professional learning and school improvement (4) Effective manager of school operations resources and compliance.

Ability to: (1) Speak read and write fluently in Spanish and English; (2) adopt or design curriculum and assessment tools for use with diverse students; (3) support and supervise licensed and classified staff; (4) demonstrate schoolwide behavior management; (5) write a final report summarizing and evaluating the Federal Programs Summer School using data; (6) communicate orally and in writing and build relationships with staff students and parents; (7) work with Director of Elementary Teaching and Learning State & Federal Programs.

Understanding of: Cultural and social issues affecting diverse students and their families and students and families experiencing poverty.

Experience: Successful administrative experience in diverse settings skilled in Professional Development data collection

Education: Completion of a higher education bachelors degree or masters degree in education/ teaching and administrative licensure.

Certification Required: A valid teaching license issued by the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission with proper endorsements for grades K-12 and an administrative license.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Interview recommend for hire and supervise migrant summer school staff (grades pre-K through 12).
  2. Determine course offerings for Federal Programs summer school.
  3. Plan for curriculum and support materials.
  4. Coordinate publicity and registration.
  5. Provide leadership in staff development.
  6. Establish and maintain open lines of communication with parents and the community.
  7. Plan for an open house for parents and the community.
  8. Cooperate with other members of the staff.
  9. Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules of the school and district.
  10. Coordinate the maintenance of student records as required by law and district policy.
  11. Take all reasonable precautions to provide for the health and safety of the students and to protect equipment materials and facilities.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Language Skills:Ability to read English and comprehend complex technical language. Ability to write memoranda correspondence lessons plans reports and student achievement summaries in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-to-one and small group situations.

Mathematical Skills:Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations with a high degree of accuracy.

Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but basic written or oral instructions in English. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other Skills and Abilities:Ability to work collaboratively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers supervisor(s) staff students parents and community.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to walk and may be continuously required to stand. The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk while performing the duties of this job. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Works in a school environment. Able to use a telephone operate a computer and use other office equipment. Able to drive to other program sites and meetings.

CLASSIFICATION:

Administrator temporary summer position Location TBD. Only INTERNAL CANDIDATES need apply.

WORK DAYS/HOURS:

Work schedule TBD. Not to exceed 250 hours.

EMPLOYMENT CONTINGENT ON ENROLLMENT AND GRANT FUNDING.

SALARY:

Paid by timesheet at the per diem rate of the 2025-2026 Admin II Salary Schedule. Salary range $122258 - $142029.
