The Role

The ABC is looking for a Supervising Producer to take the lead in shaping compelling stories and delivering agendasetting newsbreaking content for Australias flagship nightly current affairs program7.30. Be at the heart of major national conversations and make an impact every day.

The Job

• Lead the lineup and onair production of7.30 including rundowns and timely delivery of content.
• Oversee two broadcasts a week with the Executive Producer and Commissioning Editor.
• Work with reporters on shoots scripting and story development ensuring creativity and editorial integrity.
• Analyse and respond to major news and events with speed and accuracy.
• Coordinate interviews shoots and graphics production.
• Contribute to editorial meetings and drive original agendasetting stories.
• Liaise across ABC teams for coverage promotion and audience engagement.
• Ensure diverse stories that reflect Australias communities.

• Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.
• Strong leadership skills with experience guiding high-performing teams in a fast-paced newsroom.
• Excellent teamwork communication interpersonal and time management abilities.
• Exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Proven commitment to creating authentic content that reflects Australias cultural and community diversity.
• Ability to build and maintain strong community contacts.
• Ongoing passion for telling stories that represent Australias diversity.
