This position is an Unclassified Position.
Louisiana Department of Public Safety & Corrections (DPS&C)/ Allen Correctional Center (ALC) located in Kinder LA is currently seeking a full-time Principal for the Education Department.
The Principal will administer ALCs rehabilitative programs such as the HiSET program Literacy Program Adult Basic Education Program and Vocational-Technical Programs. The Principal will oversee direct develop and implement these programs.
Examples of work include but are not limited to responsibility for entire education program including literacy HiSet and all vocational-technical programs and correspondence courses supervising teaching staff and teachers aides administrative decisions including curriculum and classroom allotment ACA documentation for education programming training seminars for tutors and staff and hiring and discipline of staff.
This position will be expected to work 40 hours per week 8:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday 12 months a year excluding state holidays for a total of 2080 work hours.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS include a current and valid Louisiana Teachers Certificate with Provisional Principal Certification. Experience in administration with additional experience such as strategic planning educational programming curriculum design development and implementation budget and expense control is preferred.
Salary will be determined by the Allen Parish School Board pay plan for a 2080-hour work year which will be based upon experience certification and education level.
No Civil Service test score is required in order to be considered for this vacancy.
