PURPOSE OF POSITIONThe High School Principal serves as the instructional and administrative leader of the high school responsible for fostering a safe inclusive and academically rigorous learning environment. The principal provides vision and leadership to students staff and the school community while ensuring compliance with Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (ODEW) requirements district policies and state and federal FUNCTIONSResponsible for the overall climate of the building including the establishment of building goals and objectives that adhere to all Board of Education policy and guidelines models the use of high visibility for students staff and familiesPartner in meetings with student/parent/staffProvide first aid/emergency health and welfare support for students and for staff development curriculum development and revision and continuous improvement initiatives. Support coordinate and promote quality instruction through staff development as well as curriculum development and revision. Monitor instruction through department or grade level meetings developing and evaluating instructional programming analysis of test scores and have knowledge of the delivery of instruction. Responsible for providing a safe environment. Purview for the development implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive building safety plan. The safety plan should include guidelines set forth in the district safety plan with input from law enforcement agencies fire and emergency management to protect the safety of students and staff. Purview the day to day consistent enforcement of laws policies and regulations as they pertain to student discipline attendance residency and intervention strategies. Purview the counselors interaction with students as it pertains to mental health for making recommendations for the operation maintenance and repair of the buildings grounds and other school property to the immediate supervisor. Develop plans to safeguard school equipment and property. Follow established policies and regulations including fire tornado lockdown and evacuation procedures. Responsible for evaluationsAll licensed educator evaluationsAll paraprofessionals and secretary classified staff Directors with the evaluations of classified employees. Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students parents staff and administration. Promote open honest and confidential communication with all constituents. Prepare faculty and parent newslettersAssist with requests from the Communications the Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning the Assistant Principal for Student Services and the Athletic Essential Functions of all PositionsEvaluate All Administrative Staff MembersPOSITION RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for all budget expenditures including but not limited to purchase orders supply inventory textbook inventory utilization of grant for all initial recruitment of new staff in partnership with the Human Resources office. Share hiring decisions with staff/parent representative committees and recommend possible candidates to the Human Capital office. Assist and support all staff members in the areas of student discipline Intervention Assistance Team recommendations and student or parental and maintain all records required by school law regulation or requested by the superintendent. This will include retention promotion and assignment of all students. Coordinate and attend co-curricular and extracurricular activities including but not limited to parent club meetings athletic events co-curricular events concerts and school for the development direct supervision and evaluation of the extracurricular program. This may include hiring staff and officials attending meetings writing and enforcing guidelines for participation and scheduling activities and facilities. Monitor and supervise students in a variety of settings during the school day. Supervise the bus unloading and loading hallways before between and after classes and all lunch have additional duties/responsibilities assigned by Superintendent / Superintendent Designees as deemed AND ABILITIESKnowledge and understanding of the Ohio Revised Code and state requirements pertaining to the educational to demonstrate interpersonal and teamwork a high degree of organizational enthusiasm and a sincere desire to assist all to communicate professionally and effectively through oral written and presentation communication. Maintain confidentiality in all communications as necessary. Ability to solve extensive problems quickly systematically and effectively.
